The speed of your Broadband internet account depends on which plan you choose. Currently, Westnet has six speeds available for Broadband1 and Broadband2+:
Broadband1
- 256kbps/64kbps;
- 512kbps/128kbps;
- 512kbps/512kbps;
- 1.5Mbps/256kbps;
- 8Mbps/384kbps (with speed ranging between 1.5Mbps/256kbps to 8Mbps/384kbps*); and
Broadband2+
- 20Mbps/1Mbps (also known as ADSL2+ with speeds of up to 20Mbps/1Mbps*).
The first figure represents your download speed and the second figure represents your upload speed. The below table provides an example of how fast a file may be downloaded via Dialup and Broadband internet connections:
Speed Tests
To test the speed of your internet connection, visit the Westnet Download Vault. Once you are at this page, choose any file to download to your computer. After a few seconds, take note of the transfer rate displayed, and compare it to the table below to see if you are experiencing a slow download speed:
