MyHelp offers a number of new and improved features that everyone can benefit from whether they have a MyHelp account or not. However, there are even more features available to registered users to help them get the most out of each visit.

Add and edit articles

MyHelp is much, much more than a collection of articles - it is an online community; a place to meet like-minded people, share knowledge and advice, learn from each other's experiences and so on. Like a real community, the more members there are contributing, the faster the community develops. Even small improvements such as updating a broken link or fixing a spelling mistake all make a difference, and MyHelp makes it quick and easy for anyone!

However, only registered users may contribute to the community (e.g. add/update articles, or leave comments, etc). The main reason for this is so that we can match each contribution with its author. For example, if you want to show the world how much you know about a particular subject, we need to know who you are so that we can give you the credit you deserve!

Other advantages

There are other advantages of registering for a MyHelp account. For example, registered users can:

  • Add content to a 'Favourites' List. This provides quick and easy access to articles that you refer to often, or sections that you like to keep an eye on, etc. Anything you mark as a favourite appears on the Dashboard, and your User Profile. Simply click the small star at the top right of each article to add or remove it from your favourites list.

  • Enjoy the full power of the Dashboard. Everyone has different priorities - mark your favourite spaces here, and you will see a filtered list of 'Recently Updated' content that you don't have to sift through for the information that is important to you.

  • Get notified of changes instantly. Registered users can watch individual pages or entire spaces at a time for changes. If another user edits a page on your watch list, an automated e-mail will be sent immediately to notify you. Very handy for keeping an eye on a discussion, or one of your own contributions, etc.

  • Subscribe to a daily summary e-mail. Registered users can subscribe to a daily summary e-mail via the 'Preferences' link at the top of every page (above the tabbed menu). This contains a list of all updates in all spaces - useful for keeping track of new articles, or changes to less-important articles that you don't want instant notifications about.
