Higher Usage
From time to time, you may notice that your usage in one month may be higher than in previous months. There are several reasons for this to occur, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Antivirus and Windows updates
- Unsecured wireless networks (Westnet can help you secure your wireless network, as long as you have purchased an Open Networks iConnectAccess 624W or 625W, and you are using Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Mac OSX)
- A virus or spyware downloading data to your computer
- Friends or family making use of your internet connection
Of course, there are many other reasons for your usage to be higher from month to month, however these are some of the more common causes. If you would like to discuss this matter further with Westnet, please feel free to contact Westnet Support 24 hours a day on 1300 786 068.
