Once you have completed your iWeb website you'll need to publish the site to a folder before uploading it via an FTP site.

If you wish to use one click FTP uploading you may want to look at an alternative design application such as RealMacSoftware's Rapidweaver.

Publish to Folder

Once you have finished your website you'll most likely have a view that looks similar to Fig. 1.

The title in bold in the top left will be very important so please take a note of it.
  • From this window click the File menu and then select the Publish to Folder option (Fig. 2).

Choose a location

You will be prompted to choose a location (Fig. 3):

  • Enter your site's URL in the box at the bottom of the window, and click Choose.
  • iWeb will export all of your website assets to the Sites folder on your local machine, and display a message once complete (Fig. 4).

Ready to Upload

At this point you can continue on and upload the site via an FTP program such as Transmit.
