If your domain name has been registered with Westnet, a renewal advice email will be sent to you 90, 60 and 30 days prior to expiry. If however the domain has not been renewed within 7 days of expiry, Westnet will be in contact to let you know.
To renew your domain name, you may:
- Renew your domain using the Domain Name Control Panel. This will allow you to renew your domain name instantly whilst using your existing billing arrangement with Westnet, or
- Fill out the Domain Name renewal form.
All Australian domain names (e.g. .com.au) are renewed for a 2 year period, whereas international domain names (e.g. .com) may be renewed anywhere between 1 to 10 years.
Also, Australian domain names can be renewed when the domain is within 90 days of the expiry date, whereas international domain names can be renewed at any time.
From time to time, you may also receive letters or emails from various companies regarding the status of your domain name or a domain name similar to your registered domain. If your domain has been registered with Westnet, we suggest that you do not respond to these letters unless they are on Westnet letterhead. If you are not sure about a letter or an email and would like to check the legitimacy, please contact Westnet Domains on 1300 137 480.
