When viewing your email under the mail tab, you are able to preform a list of common tasks to more than one email simultaneously. These functions include Mark as Unread, Tag, Delete and Move.
In your mail tab view there will be a small square on the far left of each of the emails. If this square has a tick in it, it means the email has been selected. Once you have selected a group of items you can apply such functions as mark as unread, tag, delete and move.
There is multiple ways you can select items.
Left Click will select one item at a time. Clicking on a selected item will deselect it.
Double-click will open an item.
Control + click selects multiple items. Can also be used to de-select the current item, leaving nothing selected.
Shift + click selects multiple items in sequence. Click on one item and then Shift-click another item further down the list and all items between the two selected items are highlighted.
Right-click an item to display a menu of actions that can be applied to this item. You can also right-click after selecting multiple items, to apply the same action to all of them at once.
In your mail tab view there will be a small boxes to the far left of each email. You can only select items by left clicking into the empty tick box. This will place a tick into the box and this means the email has been selected. To select multiple items, simply select multiple boxes.
To deselect a selected item, simply left click on the tick and it will disappear from the box. Once you have selected a group of items you can apply such functions as mark as unread, tag, delete and move.
