When you delete an existing contact, it completely removes the contact from your address book. Contacts can be deleted in one of 3 ways:
- In the Address Book toolbar, tick the check box next to the contact you wish to delete. Multiple contacts can be selected by ticking multiple boxes and then click Delete.
- Drag the contact you wish deleted to the Trash folder.
- Right-click on the contact and select Delete.
If you delete a contact that was automatically added to your address book, the contact is moved to the Trash folder. You cannot add the name back to your address books until you delete the contact from the Trash folder.
If you would like to remove the items from the Trash folder you can remove the files totally by following the steps listed in the Empty the Trash article.

To delete an existing Contact you need to follow the instructions below.
- From the Home folder click Address Books.
- Place ticks in the tick boxes next to the names of the people that you wish to delete.
- Click on the Delete button.
At this point the contacts will be moved to the deleted items folder.
