As part of our commitment to fighting spam and virus activity, Westnet places certain restrictions on outgoing email. These limitations are designed to have little impact on normal email usage, while preventing spam and virus infections.

The size of an outgoing email must be less than 20MB. However, due to the way email itself works, many files will increase in size when attached to an email. The average attachment increases in size by appromately 30%. As a general rule, messages smaller than 15MB should be accepted by Westnet's mail server. This does vary depending on the file type, so if you are having trouble sending large messages we recommend looking into other file transfer methods.

Please note that recipients on slower connections will have difficulties retrieving large attachments.
