Attachments are files sent along with an email. You can attach any file to an email however files that are too large will cause problems for you and the recipient.

As a general rule of thumb, it is best to avoid sending attachments larger than 2MB. Keep in mind that many Internet Service Providers and email protection mechanisms will block applications and other potentially dangerous files.

If you receive an email attachment, it will usually need to be viewed with the same application it was created with. For example, if you are sent a Microsoft Word document, you need Microsoft Word to view the document.

If you are unsure how to view an attachment, it is often easiest to simply ask the sender what you need to open it. You can also search FILExt to find information on the program you require.
