If you change your Westnet password, your Broadband modem needs to be updated to reflect this. If this is not done, you will experience difficulties next time you connect to Westnet.
To update the password stored within your OPEN Networks iConnectAccess 611, 612, 621, 622, 624 or 624W broadband modem, please follow the instructions below.
For all other modems please refer to the modem's manual or contact Westnet Support on 1300 786 068 for further assistance.
Log into the Modem
- In your browser's address bar (Fig. 1), type 192.168.1.254 and press Enter (or click the Go button) to load your modem's configuration page.
- You will see a login screen - the default username and password are:
- Username: root
- Password: 0P3N (zero, capital P, three, capital N)

Once you have logged in, you will see the modem's home page (Fig. 2). Click the Setup tab to proceed.
Edit Your Details
- Under WAN Setup on the left of your screen, click Westnet.
- Under PPP Settings, type your new password in the Password.
- Click Apply
Save Your Settings
 | Important: Once you have finished configuring your modem, you must save your settings or they will be lost when the modem is switched off, and you will have to set it up again. |
To save your settings, click on the Tools tab at the top of the screen. Click on System Commands, then Save All. Once the modem has finished saving, you can close your web browser completely.
